Ross Township is a Township of the Second Class and is governed by a three-member Board of Supervisors who are elected to six-year terms.
The board is responsible for all Township policies and legislation that govern the community.
The population of Ross Township is approximately 5,435.
The Township covers approximately 48 miles of Township roads and 20 miles of state roads. The Township building is located on 250 Anchorage Road in Saylorsburg.

DownloadThe Road Foreman and road crew provide maintenance and snow removal of Township roads.
Please be mindful of our road crew as they work along Township roads as they do their daily maintenance.
Free wood chips for township residents are stocked piled to the rear of the Township building.
Please note that the Crimes Code § 5507 (a) and the Second Class township Code at §2326 (53 P.S. § 67326) make it a violation for individuals to place materials or items of personality in the right-of-way and to thereby obstruct the snow removal and plowing operations of the Township.
The Planning Commission is comprised of seven volunteer residents appointed by the Supervisors that act as an advisory group to the Board as well as advising the Township in regard to long-range planning, recommendations for changes, and subdivision and land development plans.
The Planning Commission meets the third Tuesday of each month at 7:00PM at the Ross Township Municipal Building, located at 250 Anchorage Road, Saylorsburg, PA 18353.
Zoning, Land Development and Sub-division, Storm Water Management are available in booklet form at the Township office $35.00 each – payable to Ross Township by check only.
The Zoning Hearing Board meets on an as needed basis.
Zoning was adopted in December of 2000 which a) divides the Township of Ross into districts with varying regulations; b) permitting, prohibiting, regulating, and determining the uses of land, watercourses, and other bodies of water, the size, height, bulk, location, erection, construction, repair, expansion, razing, removal and use of structures, the areas and dimensions of land and bodies of water to be occupied by uses and structures; as well as yards and other open areas to be left unoccupied; c) establishes the maximum density and intensity of uses; d) provides for the administration and enforcement of this Ordinance in accordance with the Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code, including provision for special exceptions and variances to be administered by a Zoning Hearing Board; and e) establishes provisions for the protection of certain natural features.

Building Permits New State Law
The State mandated Uniform Construction Code is now in effect in Ross Township. This involves new procedures and fees for new construction, remodeling, and some repairs which require permits and will be under enforcement by a code official appointed by Ross Township.

Real Estate Property Taxes
There is a real estate tax in Ross Township and it is collected by the elected tax collector. She collects the County, Municipal, and School taxes and remits the monies directly to each taxing body.
County/Township bills mailed out March 1st and your School bill mailed out August 1st.
For 2022 There are No real estate taxes to be paid to Ross Township.
However, the County and School still must be paid.
All tax bills go to the homeowners NOT the mortgage companies.

This is the only way to prove Timely Payment if not securing a U.S. Postmark. If you do not press the doorbell at the time of leaving your tax payment in the Dropbox, your payment may be logged as LATE as I will have no way of proving when it was deposited.
